10. Princess Diana and Prince Charles

Although the Queen wanted Charle’s and Diana’s marriage to endure for the sake of the monarchy it became clear that after Diana’s famous Panorama revealing interview in 1995 that this was not possible. Just one year before Diana’s death in 1996, the royal couple formally split sharing custody of their two sons, Prince Harry and Prince William. On August, 1996 the divorce was finalized.
