15. Elizabeth Taylor
On March 27th, 1959, 27 year old film star Elizabeth Taylor converted to the Jewish religion in a ceremony Temple Israel in Hollywood California. Taylors outspoken support of Israel was at first not well received in Egypt when the Jewish actress played one of her most famous roles as Cleopatra. However once the country realized what amazing publicity it was receiving for having the famous movie star depict one of their greatest icons it recanted its criticism. Taylor sadly passed away on March 23, 2011 after enduring many bouts of illness’s throughout her life.
