Study shows that drinking NO Alcohol is the best health choice

A new study has found that NO amount of alcohol is good for your heart health.

The report dashed claims that moderate drinking, for example drinking one glass of wine a day offers protection against heart disease.

For years public health officials while not encouraging people to start drinking to improve their health have nonetheless stated that up to a drink per day for women and up to two per day for men probably won’t hurt anyone who indulges and could even offer some health benefits.

This standard is written into The Dietary Guidelines for Americans and is supported by organizations such as the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.

“These clams are best misinformed and at worst an attempt by the alcohol industry to mislead the public about the danger of their product,” a co-author of the report stated.

“I think the the World Heart Federation got it right” cardiologist Dr. Steven Nissen said.

“The problem is that there are people who think, ‘Well gee, if I just have a drink a day, I’m protected from heart disease,’ and that’s fundamentally wrong,” he said.

In 2019 nearly 2.4 million deaths were linked to alcohol consumption.

“There’s no reason to drink to try and protect your heart,” Nissen said.

Drinking alcohol has been proven to increase the risk of several health problems including several types of cancer, high blood pressure, stroke and coronary disease.
