Kate Hudson has three children. Two year old daughter Rani Rose, who she shares with boyfriend Danny Fujikawa and two sons Bingham Hawn, 9 and Ryder Russell, 16 from previous relationships.
Kate told People magazine that there are certain things she is strict about. ‘Where I am strict is that there are certain rules that I put down,’ she explained. ‘I don’t negotiate with my kids about certain things.’ Hudson says this policy has proven successful. ‘And what I realized about that is that when you set that standard in your home, you don’t end up in long -winded negotiations.’ Hudson said. ‘When I say no, it’s done.’
One of the things that Kate insists on is ‘manners’ and the one thing she has zero tolerance for are lies, no matter whether they are big or small.
Still the mom of three makes sure she allows her children plenty of “space” to “make mistakes” and makes it clear she is not into judging other moms and dads parenting styles.
‘We all need to have an open mind and feel good about what we’re doing and let other people live the way they want to live.’ Hudson said.
She shares that her parenting stye ‘came as a surprise to my entire family when I became a mother.’ Hudson also explained her rapport with structure that influences her wellness style as well as her parenting. ‘(Parents) need to create reasonable boundaries (and ) draw some lines in the sand so that (children) can test them.’ she said.
