Sharon Stone is famous for her sizzling roles playing the sexy screen siren in Hollywood Blockbusters. Although she recently joked about a being a sex symbol at 62 there is no doubt that she still looks amazing and the fact is while that label is so ingrained in her image it can be hard for fans to view her in another light. ‘In fact, people are always wanting to see (her boobs)’ the Golden Globe award winning actress joked. ‘I’m 62! It’s like, ‘Really? Grow up!’
‘It’s like a comedy.’ says Stone relating to the fact that she was kicked off the Bumble dating app last year as no one believed it was her. ‘I wish I’d stayed kicked off it.’ Her three sons Roan Bronstein, Laird Stone and Quinn Stone who she refers to as the three most important men in her life take priority over dating and Stone says she has found a private peace attached to that.
NOT JUST A PRETTY FACE!
Sharon Stone has always been more than just a pretty face with a fabulous body. Sharon is widely reputed to have a high scoring IQ of 154. Stone was considered academically gifted as a child and entered the second grade when she was only 5 years old. When she was 15, she accepted a scholarship to Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, where she studied creative writing and fine arts. Although she left University after taking the advice of a pageant judge while a candidate for Miss Pennsylvania, she returned to University in 2016 to complete her degree.
STONE IS GRATEFUL FOR BEING ABLE TO GROW OLDER
In 2001, Stone nearly died after enduring a massive brain hemorrhage, which was diagnosed as a vertebral artery dissection rather than the more common ruptured aneurysm. This was treated with an endovascular coil embolization. ‘These are life changing events’ Stone has said. ‘You have to be willing to not hang on to the life you had before.’ Stone says she chooses her destiny with as much integrity as she can and remains open to growth. ‘I think you have to choose how you want to age.’ she says. Stone explains that attempting to discard her sex symbol label has been a part of that but admits that it’s not an easy feat. ‘It’s very hard to shake.’ she explains. ‘I mean, I never thought I was that sexy!’ Millions of Stones fans would however disagree with this and although Stone has found character actress work in her 60’s including her eclipsing role as an unconventional heiress in the Netflix horror series Ratched the sex symbol depiction of her is still inherently attached. Maybe Stone can never fully ditch the public’s perspective of her but perhaps her image as a timeless sex symbol can evolve as she has into a segement not a whole of Stones persona and certainly not a symbolization of everything else she represents.
